Vic: Fire fighters contain bushfire in state's west

Fire fighters have contained a bushfire which has destroyed more than five-thousand
hectares of scrub .. in a national park in Victoria's west.

The blaze in the Little Desert National Park was sparked by lightning on Thursday ..

but has been contained just before midday (AEDT) .. by firefighters and four water bomber
aircraft.

The fire has destroyed more than five-thousand hectares of scrub .. about 15km north
of Mount Arapiles.

Two smaller bushfires in state forest near Portland are still burning out of control
.. while 120 fire fighters are trying to contain a blaze in the Wilson's Promontory National
Park.

A cold front is expected to cross Victoria late tomorrow .. bringing showers.
