NSW: Police to target animal cruelty offenders
Police and welfare groups are being urged to identify animal cruelty offenders .. with
research showing it could lead to them committing violent attacks on women and children
later in life.
NSW Police Minister CARL SCULLY says studies conducted across the state and overseas
show there are several notable cases where people who tortured animals in their youth
.. went on to commit serious violent or sexual offences.
He says notorious criminals like Port Arthur gunman MARTIN BRYANT .. one of the ANITA
COBBY killers .. JOHN TRAVERS .. and US serial killer TED BUNDY all had a history of animal
cruelty.
